Long Term Behaviour Change

Nutrition & Behaviour Change Coaching in Herne Bay

Whether you’re stuck in an all-or-nothing cycle, taking or coming off a GLP-1 weight-loss medication and don’t have appropriate, personalised nutritional or exercise support, or just tired of starting over every Monday with the latest quick fix, I will help you finally build and maintain realistic diet and lifestyle habits.

The Only Plan That Works Is The One You Can Stick To

What is Nutrition & Behaviour Change Coaching?

Push Pull Health exists to help someone like you end the years of confusion and struggle around your health.

We’ll focus on long-term behaviour change, realistic dietary choices and tackling your all-or-nothing thinking and self-sabotaging habits that continue to derail your progress.

I’m a qualified MNU Nutritionist with over 12 years of experience in working with clients on their nutritional choices and dietary preferences, utilising behaviour change psychology to ensure this isn’t another short-term fix to a long-term problem.

That means everything I do is evidence-based, rooted in science and built for someone like you with a life that rarely has “quiet periods”. Freeing you from your tried and trusted excuse, “I’ll start when life slows down.”

No scam wellness fads, generic meal plans, or asking you to hand over your life savings for me to tell you that the solution to your dietary and lifestyle problems is to “move more and eat less”…

Having The Confidence To Live A Better Life

PUTTING YOU AND YOUR HEALTH FIRST

Calling Out The Charlatans

Client Centred Approach

Here’s an example of a few of the (made-up) treatments we don’t offer:

  • You don’t need to “balance your hormones” with an overpriced supplement stack

  • You don’t need to detox—your liver’s doing that just fine

  • You don’t need your metabolism balanced, kick-started or reset.

  • You don’t need to starve yourself with a 28-day sugar cleanse.

These are not evidence-based diet interventions, primarily made up by charlatans and quacks trying to sell you an overpriced “personalised nutrition package”.

Prying on your insecurities and desperation to find something that works.

Instead, we’ll focus on:

Evidence-based diet and behaviour change
✅ Implementing realistic long-term nutritional habits
✅ Building a better relationship with food and exercise
✅ Improving your body image, energy and mood

Results that go above and beyond another overpriced quick fix, and before-and-after photos that benefit me, not you.

Weight Loss Medication Support

Removing The Confusion

You’re eating less, losing weight, and the food noise has finally quietened.

However, you’re still stuck in the same routine you were desperate to change—skipping meals, avoiding certain foods, waiting for something to click. Hoping you will start craving the foods you avoid, while losing the taste of the ones you consistently overconsume.

You’re still confused by the endless, conflicting advice around the “best” diet:

  • What foods are actually “good” or “bad”?

  • Do I need to count calories, macros, points, or syns?

  • WTF is protein, and am I eating enough fibre?

  • Should I keep trying (and failing) to eat my five a day and hope for the best?

This is where I come in—to help fill the gaps with simple, effective and sustainable changes that work for the long term.

Changes that fit your life and dietary preferences, so you don’t keep trying to fit square pegs into round holes.

A Results Based Approach

No Calorie Counting Required

I will provide you with all the tools—meal ideas, recipes, supermarket essentials, eating-out and low-calorie swap guides, and exercise programmes—everything you need to get started.

However… most of that is already out there. Free on social media. Floating around the internet.

You’re overwhelmed by misinformation, pseudoscience, wellness fluff, and conflicting advice, leaving you more confused than ever about finding a routine that works for you.

Push Pull Health offers flexible coaching that fits your lifestyle—not another confusing spreadsheet or app you stop updating after the first week, leaving you wondering if this will ever change, as your bank account quietly continues to empty every month.

You Don't Need To Join A Gym

Evidence-Based Habit Change

Weight loss drugs like Mounjaro, Wegovy, or Ozempic can help reduce body fat and improve your quality of life…

But if you’re not strength training or staying active, you’re not just losing fat—you’re likely losing muscle too. Muscle loss increases your risk of osteoporosis, sarcopenia, and long-term strength decline—especially as you age.

That’s where most people get stuck.

You’re left wondering which exercise routine best supports your goals of gradual fat loss, helps you keep and build lean muscle or tones up the excess skin you have from weight loss?

We will work together to find ways to start including daily movement and resistance training in your life by identifying your laughables: daily habits that are laughably easy to stick to.

Helping you see that improving your physical and mental health is achievable through small, actionable, realistic steps done consistently, not perfectly.

The Standards You Set Yourself

Start New Habits From Anywhere

If you’ve ever rolled your eyes at wellness influencers pushing detox teas, health coaches sliding into your DMs with “mindset hacks,” and 21-year-olds dishing out life advice like “we all have the same 24 hours”… you’re not alone!

We’ll work together to identify your triggers, align your habits with real-life values, and create lasting changes that help you escape the toxic comparison trap—and finally start building self-worth that isn’t tied to a number on the scales or someone else’s highlight reel.

Based in Herne Bay, Kent, I work with clients locally in Beltinge, Chestfield, Whitstable, and the surrounding areas, offering face-to-face and online nutrition and behaviour change support.

FINDING BALANCE

Improving Your Gut Health

Struggling with bloating, IBS symptoms, or digestive discomfort?
You’re not alone. Many clients come to me dealing with gut issues—bloated after meals, sensitive to certain foods, or just unsure how to eat healthier.

While I don’t diagnose IBS or prescribe low FODMAP diets, I can help you spot patterns, suggest gut-friendly swaps, and improve your overall food choices to help you create a more balanced, nutrition-dense diet.

If it looks like you’d benefit from formal FODMAP support or medical nutrition therapy, I’ll happily refer you to a trusted registered dietitian who may be able to support with a personalised meal plan. I’m also happy to work as part of a wider support team if you’re already under clinical care.

NO STONES LEFT UNTURNED

We Will Work On Helping You...

  • Feel more confident in your clothes
  • Improving your relationship with food
  • Getting back into a sustainable routine
  • Reducing food noise, constant snacking, and secret late-night eating habits
  • Curb your cravings without living on kale smoothies
  • Learning to eat without guilt, shame, or judgment
  • Nourishing your body without over-restricting the foods and drinks you enjoy
  • Be more accepting of what you see in the mirror

Not an exhaustive list by any means, but a snapshot of common goals that show up repeatedly while working with 100s of clients all over the world who wanted to start associating nutrition as a way to increase their energy, mood and happiness.

Nutrition & Behaviour Change Client Success Stories

Olya - 35 - Care Home Manager

As I’m currently using Wegovy (semaglutide) for a thyroid issue and excess weight, I’d been advised that just losing weight quickly wouldn’t allow me to see the full benefits of the medication without also focusing on a regular strength training programme and improving my diet.

Working with Ben has been a game-changer.

He created a tailored strength programme that helped me get stronger and allowed me to preserve and build lean muscle while using Wegovy.

Ben made sure I didn’t fall into the trap of just eating less of the same foods. Instead, I’ve become much more conscious of the quality of my diet, focusing on eating more protein and incorporating easy snack and meal ideas to support my goals.

Lynda - 47 - Podiatrist

I first reached out to Ben at Push Pull Health after he shared a post about his love for Bounty!

Like so many others, I’ve spent years stuck in a cycle of yo-yo dieting—a few wins here and there, but nothing that ever felt sustainable.

I even tried a diet BootCamp, which had some short-term success, but the results didn’t last.

Since working with Ben, things have started to click.

We’ve focused on portion control, adding more variety to my meals, and improving my relationship with food.

I’ve finally stopped judging food as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ and found a sustainable, fun, and realistic routine.

At this stage in life, I don’t want quick fixes—I want something that fits me and lasts.

Shaun Oshea - 35 - Teaching Assistant

I started with Ben a little over 14 weeks ago with a massive goal to get under 100kg.

I started at 112.5. One thing Ben also taught me is that I didn’t have to eat boring foods day in, day out. He’s been nothing but supportive and has taught me so much during our initial 14-week journey. I am now sitting at 98.5kg and feel amazing.

Ben doesn’t force you to follow a generic meal plan. Instead, he teaches you and guides you in making positive changes to your diet.

This enabled me to enjoy family meals and socialising with friends without worrying about going off-plan.

I feel confident enough now to stop yo-yo dieting and, with Ben’s help, have found sustainable habits that work for my life.

If your goal is to lose fat, fit your clothes better, or simply feel better in yourself, I can’t recommend Ben from Push Pull Health enough!

Frequently Asked Questions

Nutrition & Behaviour Change Coaching FAQs

We’ll spend around 60 minutes chatting about your lifestyle, medical history, dietary habits, preferences, and current barriers to ensure we have the information we need to provide you with a personalised nutrition plan tailored to your specific goals, whether that’s weight loss, weight gain, boosting energy levels, or managing a health condition.

That means you already know what doesn’t work—and we’ll build something that does. That’s why we focus on behaviour change—not just willpower.

Yes—but just to be clear: I’m not a doctor, and I don’t prescribe or advise on medication. I support people already using drugs like Mounjaro, Wegovy, Trizeptiede or Ozempic who’ve been left with zero guidance around how to eat, move, or build better long-term nutritional and exercise habits.

Yes—within my scope of practice. If clinical support is needed, I’ll help refer you to a qualified professional. But we can absolutely work and start identifying patterns and triggers as we focus on improving your relationship with food, not just your food choices.

Nope! Although for many, initial calorie and food tracking can be beneficial, our long-term focus will be on providing you with an understanding of nutrition without obsessing over numbers. Building a life that helps you stop feeling like you are always on a diet, yet never get the results you want or deserve, and you are sick of always regaining the weight you work so hard to lose

Yes—within my scope. I’ve supported many clients navigating IBS, low-FODMAP eating, and uncomfortable digestive symptoms. Where needed, I’ll also refer out, and I’m happy to work alongside other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary support team.

And if something falls outside my scope, I’ll connect you with a trusted professional who can.

It varies. Most clients begin to feel a noticeable difference in energy and confidence within 30 days. However, the pace of progress depends on individual factors. We work on making both physical and mental changes, and help you define what ‘results’ actually mean to you.
