This Isn't A One-Size-Fits-All Approach

Exercise Referral & Personal Training for Long Term Conditions in Herne Bay

Looking to build on your 12-week NHS referral programme? Or want a quieter, more personal place to start?

Push Pull Health helps people with long-term conditions train safely, consistently, and confidently—without the noise or pressure of a busy, intimidating commercial gym.

Not Another Short Term Scheme

Support After NHS Exercise Referral Programmes

This isn’t another 12-week tick-box programme.

Exercise referral schemes can be a great starting point, but what comes next?

At Push Pull Health, we offer small group personal training in a private Herne Bay studio—coaching real people with real conditions to build confidence, Strength, and consistency. Whether you’ve completed your referral programme or need a personalised approach from the start, this support builds on what you’ve already done, providing the structure, attention, and long-term coaching that the initial 12 weeks can’t always offer.

Sometimes you need more than a printout and a pat on the back.

What we offer is different.

We coach and support what’s in front of us—no cookie-cutter plans, no pressure to push through when your body says otherwise. No having to put on a brave face or explain yourself to a room full of strangers.

Along with small-group personal training, we offer weekly check-ins and a routine you can manage long term, even on your worst days.

COACHING FOR REAL LIFE

We strive to make Push Pull Health more than just a place to exercise under expert guidance.

The gym is a welcoming, non-judgemental space—designed to support your physical and mental wellbeing through strength training, movement, and lifestyle habits that work around your life and condition.

As you know, chronic pain and long-term conditions don’t follow a script.
No two days are the same. Symptoms change. Energy dips. Pain flares up.

Sessions are designed to be the highlight of your day, a positive distraction, not another painful chore.

Everything You Need To Feel Supported

YOUR FIRST 30 DAYS AT PUSH PULL HEALTH INCLUDES...

  • Private small group personal training (2-4 per session)
  • Personalised coaching based on your needs, energy, and symptoms
  • Strength and mobility coaching tailored to long-term conditions
  • Weekly check-ins, lifestyle guidance, and ongoing habit support
  • A calm, private, welcoming environment
  • No queuing for equipment that you don’t know how to use
  • Reassurance, guidance, and real accountability

We help you build structure, rebuild confidence, and boost your fitness through consistent, proven coaching and training systems, giving you something steady to rely on when everything else feels unpredictable.

NO JUDGEMENT

A PLACE TO SEE RESULTS

A busy gym or group class can be bad enough when you’re self-conscious, in pain, or struggling with low mood—no wonder most people drop out before they see results.

Here, you’ll train in a private setting with people on their own journey—no judgment, no awkward chat about conditions (unless you want to).

In our weekly check-ins, you’ll get the chance to talk about pain, recovery, and ways to manage what’s going on outside the gym.

Exercise Referral Client Success Stories

Elizabeth - 59 - Utility Warehouse Distributor

I have not worked out in any way for years and decided to join Ben, I have been going for about 10 weeks now and have noticed the difference already, my balance is better, I have more strength and stamina and I really do enjoy going along to the sessions with Ben, I’m an older lady so have some health problems but Ben works with me and listens to what I have to say rather than getting me to do what everyone else does he understands we are all at different levels and abilities I would totally recommend Ben to everyone of all ages.

Karen - 64 - Nurse

When I first started with Ben at Push Pull Health in Herne Bay, I was (and still am) dealing with multiple health challenges, including Long Covid, POTS, Dysautonomia, and marked Post-exertional malaise, which began in March 2020. After four years of becoming totally deconditioned and several unsuccessful attempts to pace myself and improve things, I approached Ben.

I wanted to build up my stamina and strength safely. My long-term goal is to enjoy regular walks again and cease the repeated cycles of crashing and relapsing. I had unsuccessfully tried self-help and various interest groups via social media, but recognised that I needed professional guidance.

Ben has been incredible, helping me to find my baseline.

We started with chair-based exercises (which did not exacerbate my POTS or dysautonomia symptoms). These really improved my strength, mobility, and stability without pushing me beyond my limits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Exercise Referral And Small Group Coaching FAQs

Yes. If you’ve just completed your 12-week NHS referral, this is the perfect next step. You’ll get personalised coaching in a smaller, quieter setting — without being pushed into a generic gym or left on your own. Many of our clients come straight from the referral programme and want to keep making progress safely.

No problem. Whether you’ve never stepped foot in a gym or you’ve been told to “just keep active,” this is a safe and structured place to start. We support people at all stages — from pre-referral to mid-recovery and managing a long-term condition independently.

Our 30-Day Trial — “30 Days to Sample the Goods” — is £99. That gets you 1x personal training session per week, 30 days of nutrition, habit, and lifestyle support, weekly check-ins, and guaranteed results.

Want more than one session a week? We can add extra heavily discounted sessions to help you stay motivated and keep moving.

No. We’re not physios or medical practitioners — but we do build on the foundations you’ve already laid. This is a strength-based exercise designed for real life, helping you move better, prevent falls, improve balance, and stay independent. And if we believe you require additional clinical support, we’ll refer you to a trusted local specialist.

Yes. No stairs, no long corridors, no scary machines. The space is step-free and easily accessible, with small group sizes and a calm, quiet environment. You’ll never be packed into a class or left trying to keep up with anyone else.

We’re on Station Road, right in the heart of Herne Bay — a stone’s throw from the train station, the Heron pub, and the sea. (Post-workout fish and chips sold separately.)

Yes. Unless you all drive tanks or fly in on private jets, there’s space for 4 cars. Most of our local clients walk (treat it as your warm-up) or car-share.

That’s normal — and common. Whether it’s nerves about exercising around others, fear of aggravating an old injury, or just not knowing what to expect… we’ve seen it all. We’ll meet you where you’re at, go at your pace, and keep it simple.

Nope. Every session is tailored to your current level of strength, fitness, energy, and stress.

Maybe you’re embarrassed about getting out of breath climbing the stairs, or you don’t have the strength to play with your kids or pick up your grandchildren. Whatever your starting point, we’ll coach you to get fitter, stronger, and more confident over the 30 days.

We run over 25 sessions a week (and counting).

Early bird? We have slots available from 6 am.
Back from work late? Join our 8 pm sessions.
Weekend warriors? We’re open then too.

Your health is covered 7 days a week.

Memberships after your trial range from £119 to £219 per month, depending on how often you want to train and the level of support you need.

That depends on where you’re starting, but common improvements could include:

  • Better balance and mobility
  • Reduced joint pain and stiffness
  • Improved confidence and independence
  • Fewer flare-ups
  • Better sleep, energy, and mood

We take pain seriously. The goal isn’t to push through it, but to work around it—finding movements that feel good, reduce stiffness, and support long-term pain management. We adjust everything based on how you feel that day.

You don’t need to “push through.”

Each session is tailored to how you feel on the day, allowing you to move safely while we support and manage your fatigue, pain levels, and energy.

Absolutely. While we’re not counsellors, regular movement, structure, and small wins each week can make a big difference to how you feel. Clients often report improvements in mood, increased energy, and greater confidence simply by establishing a consistent routine again.
