For People Like You Who Cringe At Your Typical Personal Trainer...

1-1 Personal Training in Herne Bay & Whitstable

All the benefits of small group coaching, just with more focus on you.

If you’re a complete beginner, starting again from a long layoff, carrying injuries, or need extra support to build confidence and accelerate your results, 1-1 coaching is the place to start.

Push Pull Health is a Burpee Free Zone

What Is 1-1 Personal Training?

You don’t need another generic HIIT-style burpee-and-star-jump workout routine. You need more strength, more energy, more confidence and someone to hold you accountable.

Every session here is 100% tailored to you—your injuries, your goals, and your energy levels (the ‘running on fumes’ workout is a client favourite).

You get the studio to yourself: no queueing for machines, no pounding music and no prying eyes (except mine).

If you haven’t exercised since PE (and hated it), or are just looking to give the whole fitness thing a go for the first or last time, Push Pull Health is the place to start.

It’s progressive, realistic, and focused on helping you feel better, move better, and build the confidence you need to ensure you know you can stick to this for longer than 30 days.

Why Choose 1-1 Personal Training

1-1 personal training at Push Pull Health is your starting point, offering the coaching, structure, and flexibility you’re missing.

It’s a private, welcoming, and (dare I say?) fun environment to improve your strength, physical health, and mental well-being—while building the confidence to go it alone one day.

Whether you join the small-group sessions, continue online, or join a public gym (traitor), this time you’ll have the tools, knowledge, and, more importantly, the confidence to keep going.

Push Pull Health exists to help you find a form of exercise you can stomach and a diet you can follow for longer than 10 minutes—without the noise, the posing, or the toxic gym-culture nonsense.

So Much More Then Exercise

Private Personal Progression

Your strength’s dropped. Your weight has crept up. Your confidence is in the toilet. But the thought of walking into a big public gym makes your stomach turn.

You’ve tried training at home around the kids, work and in a space where you couldn’t swing a cat.

You’ve been ignored in another one-size-fits-all group class pretending to be “personal”.

Push Pull Health is different.

It’s personalised. It’s results-focused. It adjusts when life does what it always does — gets in the way.

No more shame. No more guesswork. No more starting over.

Just honest coaching that keeps you accountable.

Providing results that last longer than another 28-day detox or six-week shred.

1-1 Personal Training Client Success Stories

Liz - 46 - NHS Communications Manger

“When I first started training with Ben at Push Pull Health, I thought I was a bit of a lost cause – after nine knee surgeries and a myriad of other physical and mental health conditions, I was confident that it wasn’t just my hatred of exercise that was blocking my progress. I just needed Ben to confirm that it was hopeless, and I could happily slink back to my sofa and those chocolate biscuits.

Fast forward a few months, and I’m now confident enough to walk into the free weights section of a public gym—even at the busiest times!

Training with Ben has been nothing short of transformative.”

Rosie - 61 - Fashion Designer

“I am always a bit nervous about new people, and I had never really done well with male personal trainers in the past, but Ben is amazing.

So calm and easy going, but really knows his stuff. I had been suffering from a tendon injury when I started going to Ben. It has significantly improved, and my legs have got stronger.

I have also improved my upper-body and core strength. I always feel better after my training sessions. His sessions have a relaxed atmosphere, we always listen to music and talk about life and the universe, and the time flies by.

If you are considering starting, I would honestly say do it, you will feel so much better. To give you some context, I am a 61-year-old woman, so you don’t have to be some gym bunny to benefit from Ben’s expertise.”

Rebecca - 46 - Office Manager

“As someone who still battles with emotional eating and food noise—the constant thoughts about what I should or shouldn’t eat—this has been life-changing.

Push Pull Health has helped me develop a positive relationship with food so I can make better choices without feeling guilty or restricted.

“The personalised fitness programme Ben created for me has been key. I’ve seen real physical and mental changes as my confidence has grown.

This journey isn’t just about the weight I’ve lost—it’s about feeling more in control of my body and my choices, even when the emotional eating challenges are still there.

For anyone who’s struggled with emotional eating or faced numerous setbacks, I can’t recommend Ben at Push Pull Health enough.”

DECIDE TO MAKE A CHANGE

A PLAN OF ACTION

We’ll discuss your short and long-term goals, current barriers, and address any concerns to ensure your first 30 days in the private gym run smoothly with coaching at every step of the way and regular check-ins when life throws you a curveball or twenty!

REFLECT ON YOUR 30 DAY TRANSFORMATION

Once you’ve built your confidence and consistency, you might want to give the small-group sessions a try. The coaching, the structure, and the accountability remain, just with the addition of some additional banter and shared (but fun) suffering.

Frequently Asked Questions

1-1 Personal Training FAQs

We’re near the top end of Station Road, right in the heart of Herne Bay—a stone’s throw from the train station, across the road from The Heron pub, and a brisk walk from the sea. (Post-workout fish and chips sold separately.)

Yes. There is room for four cars outside the studio. Some of our clients walk from nearby and use it as their warm-up and cool-down. (Weather dependent!)

Absolutely not!
Whether you’re getting out of breath climbing the stairs or haven’t trained since PE (and hated it), this is designed to meet you where you’re at.
No judgment. No pressure. Just a proper reset to get you moving safely and confidently.

Yes. Every session is personalised, so we adapt around your body, not the other way around.
Replacement knees, lower back issues, frozen shoulders, stiff joints–we’ve worked with them all.

Sessions start from £45 for 45 minutes of personalised coaching and £ 52.50 for 60-minute sessions.

Outside of sessions, you’ll also get:
– A weekly accountability check-in
– A 30-day nutrition, habit, and lifestyle educational course
– Daily touch points to keep you motivated

On top of all that, you have access to the Push Pull Health App for addtional home workouts, an educational library, healthy recipes, guides on PCOS, Gut Health, and Eating Out—basically everything you need to make this stick.

Nope. No meal plans, no “clean eating” rules, and definitely no weighing your spinach.
You’ll get support with food choices, habits, and realistic tweaks that actually fit your life. No fad diets. Just stuff that works for you.

We will look at the reasons why. Push Pull Health doesn’t provide you with a generic plan and a pat on the back. When life throws you a curveball, your motivation is at an all-time low, or when you’ve just had a terrible day, we adjust.

The only thing that doesn’t work is you doing a runner!

If, after 30 days, you’ve stuck to the plan but haven’t achieved the results you hoped for, you’ll receive a full refund after completing a short exit interview, which will help me improve the gym and our service.

Life happens. Illness, stress, work… It’s all part of it.
This isn’t a plan that falls apart the second things go sideways—we adapt, adjust, and keep you moving without the guilt.

Absolutely!
Many people use 1-1 training to build confidence and get to grips with the basics, then move into Small Group PT once they’re ready. Or you can stay 1-1. Or go it alone. (traitor) Whichever path you choose, you’ll have the tools either way.

I highly doubt it! This isn’t another soulless commercial gym full of mirrors, meatheads, or booming playlists where we may small-talk while queuing for a machine. It’s a quiet, private space in Herne Bay that you will have all to yourself—providing you plan that actually makes sense for you.
